Dave Kuhnau Oral History

In 2016, three students of Carleton Professor Kim Smith--Morgan Whyte, Bryce Barton, and Michael Frett--interviewed Dave Kuhnau, a member of Friends of Prairie Creek.  They wanted to learn more about Dave's efforts to propagate the rare Prairie Crabapple tree at the Koester Prairie Site.  Listen to their interview to learn more.

Beginnings

Prairie Crabapples are rare in this part of Minnesota.  In 2013, efforts to clear nonnative trees and shrubs uncovered a few of these rare trees on the Koester Prairie Site.
