Engeseth Rinde Dedication

The Engeseth-Rinde Unit of the Prairie Creek Wildlife Management Area was officially dedicated on June 1, 2019. Don Nelson donated the land to serve the people of Minnesota as a site dedicated to preserving, protecting, and enhancing the native wildlife of this area. It will be natural resource for the future use, enjoyment, and education of the people of Minnesota. Don also created an endowment through Northfield Shares to support ongoing restoration efforts.

The event was sponsored by Northfield Shares and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources in co-operation with Friends of Prairie Creek WMA, the Cannon River Watershed Partnership, and the Valley Grove Preservation Society. The event was held at the Valley Grove Historic Site and included tours of the Engeseth-Rinde farm.
